The cornerstone of EFT is tapping on certain acupressure points on the face, hands and body. There is no need whatsoever to know anything about the points, the meridian lines they lie along or any theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in order to use and benefit from EFT, but personally I am fascinated by this side of things!

My interest began years ago when I learned about Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine system of healing, and Touch for Health, another healing therapy based on the five elements, acupressure points and meridians of TCM. I also studied and practised Yin Yoga for several years, which uses yin/yang and meridian theories from TCM blended with yoga poses. I have also taken a Module of Online Advanced Learning in Meridian Energy with the EFT Guild.

About 4 years ago I found a wonderful qigong teacher online, Jeff Chand, and since then I have practised qigong along with his videos on Youtube and on his private membership website, www.qigongforvitality.com. I had so many questions for Jeff about the interface of TCM and EFT and I was delighted when we decided to collaborate on a mini EFT video course for his private membership community, which went live last month!

As well as covering TTT (Trauma Tapping Technique, or No Words Tapping) and the Constricted Breathing Technique, a classic EFT teaching tool where we use tapping to expand the breathing, I did a short demonstration of  a session with Jeff where we addressed his experience of always losing his voice when speaking a lot in public. We then had a great Q and A session where I explained more about EFT and Jeff filled in all the detail about the points used and what they are for in TCM, along with some other ideas common to both TCM and EFT. I also recorded a short guided ‘no words tapping’ session that members can tap along with as part of their qigong practice, or as a standalone practice.

There has been great feedback from members leaving questions and comments about what they learned and how it has helped them! I highly recommend following Jeff on his Youtube channel and if you enjoy qigong, the Qigong For Vitality membership community is well worth joining. I hope to see you there so that you can enjoy this EFT mini course as well!
